55Birthright of Columbia is proud to announce a new scholarship program, The Neglia Family Scholarship. We invite graduating pregnant/parenting high school seniors and pregnant/parenting college* students to apply for a one-time non-renewable scholarship of $1,000.
Our goal is to enable a pregnant/parenting mom to pursue and/or continue her higher-level education and advance her career to provide a safe, stable, and financially secure future for her and her baby.
Requirements for scholarship application year 2024-2025:
- Must be a current expectant parent or past parent of Birthright of Columbia with pregnancy (currently pregnant or now parenting a child 12 months old or younger).
AND
- Graduating from high school in the spring of 2025 and planning to attend college* either in South Carolina or out of state in 2025 OR
- Currently enrolled in an accredited school/college* in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program OR
- Be a returning mature student to an accredited school/college*
*Refers to an accredited university, college, technical or trade school program.
Applicant must show proof of FAFSA and acceptance or enrollment (schedule for upcoming semester). Note: Scholarship will be paid directly to the college to defray tuition expenses.
OR
Show proof of transcript AFTER semester is over. Note: Scholarship will be awarded after requirement is met.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION SUBMISSION: December 1, 2024 (Spring 2025), April 1, 2025 (Summer 2025), July 1 (Fall 2025)
Applications will be ranked by a three-member panel selected by Birthright’s Board of Directors.
